How to use this CRS calculator

  1. 01

    Describe your situation

Choose your marital status and age. If your spouse or partner is coming with you and is not a Canadian citizen or PR, their factors count too.

  2. 02

    Add education and language results

Pick your highest credential and enter your CLB or NCLC level for each of the four abilities. Convert your test scores to CLB first.

  3. 03

    Add work experience and extras

Enter skilled work in and outside Canada, then any trade certificate, nomination, sibling or Canadian study.

  4. 04

    Read the breakdown

Your score updates as you type. The breakdown shows which factor gives how many points and where caps apply.

Worked example

A 29-year-old single applicant with a bachelor's degree, CLB 9 in all four English abilities and three years of skilled work abroad gets 354 core points and 75 skill-transferability points, for a total of 429. Adding NCLC 7 in French would add both second-language points and the 50-point French bonus.

What changed in 2025

Since March 25, 2025, IRCC no longer awards CRS points for a job offer (previously 50 or 200 points). A valid job offer can still matter for program eligibility, such as the Federal Skilled Trades Program, but it no longer raises your score. This calculator reflects that change.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good CRS score?

There is no fixed pass mark. Each round of invitations has its own cut-off score, and category-based rounds (for example French-language proficiency, healthcare or trades) often have different cut-offs from general rounds. Compare your score with the latest rounds published on canada.ca.

Does a job offer still give CRS points?

No. Job offer points were removed on March 25, 2025. They were worth 50 points, or 200 points for senior management (NOC Major Group 00).

How are points counted if I have a spouse?

If your spouse or partner is coming with you and is not a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, your own maximums drop slightly (460 instead of 500 core points) and your spouse can add up to 40 points for education, language and Canadian work.

How much is French worth?

NCLC 7 or higher in all four French abilities gives 25 additional points, or 50 if you also have CLB 5 or higher in all four English abilities. French can also add up to 24 second-language points.

What is the maximum CRS score?

1,200 points: up to 500 for core factors (including spouse factors), 100 for skill transferability and 600 additional points, most of which come from a provincial nomination.

Is this calculator official?

No. It is an independent tool built from IRCC's published criteria. The score in your Express Entry profile is the one that counts.
